A set of shaped plugs of springy foam for the landing gear bays of an F-84F model. The plug goes into the bay, the model is sprayed and once dry the plug comes out. It is not a kit but a masking aid; the plastic model is obtained separately.
A modeler paints the landing gear bay first, because there will be no access to it later. While the fuselage and the wings are being sprayed it stays open, however, and overspray can ruin it in a moment. Masking a deep busy cavity with tape is a nuisance, cotton sheds fibers and none of it seals properly. A plug is a shaped part that seals the bay in one go and reliably, and incidentally it also protects it from sanding dust and dirt during the build.
These plugs are made to the bays of the F-84F kit in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. They will not fit a model from another brand or another scale. Check whose box you are building before buying, therefore.
The Republic F-84F Thunderstreak is an American jet fighter-bomber of the 1950s with a swept wing. Do not confuse it with the earlier F-84G Thunderjet, which has a straight wing; they are aircraft that differ at first glance even though they carry the same type number. The Thunderstreak came about as a higher performing continuation of the Thunderjet: it received a swept wing and tail surfaces and a more powerful engine, and it served with the US Air Force and, in the 1950s and 1960s, with a number of European air forces. When choosing accessories, therefore, always buy them for the version you are actually building.
The plugs are not a model and not part of one; they serve only for masking and are taken out of the model before it is finished.
