An SBS Model add-on set in 1:72 scale with the engine and the engine cowling for the Fiat G.50/bis kit from Fly.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fiat G.50 Freccia was an Italian single-seat fighter with an air-cooled Fiat A.74 radial engine. The bis designation belongs to the later reworked production form. The circular engine cowling with its cutouts is a striking recognition feature of the whole type, and it is exactly that part of the model that is most on view.
A replacement engine and engine cowling in 1:72 scale intended for the Fiat G.50/bis kit from Fly. The parts replace the simplified sections of the base kit and bring a more legible shape to the radial engine and a more accurate profile to the cowling.
The parts are not polystyrene, and ordinary modeling cement has no effect on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger areas a two-part epoxy resin serves well, as it leaves more time for positioning. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the shape is not disturbed. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and use a primer, on which the paint holds better. The exact procedure for preparing the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions. A dry test fit pays off, because once the engine has been replaced the inside of the fuselage and the mating edge of the cowling usually have to be adjusted.
The set is aimed at modelers who want to lift the level of a finished model where it shows most and are not afraid of small modifications to the kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
