Xtradecal 1:72 markings for the Handley-Page Victor K.2 are a printed sheet for models of the British flying tanker converted from a strategic bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
Xtradecal has long devoted itself to British aircraft, and the Victor is one of the types where the decals from a box often miss what a modeler is looking for. This sheet is issued specifically for the K.2 tanker version, that is for a machine with different equipment and a different finish from the original bomber form.
The Victor came about as one of the three British carriers of the nuclear weapon and you will recognize it at once by its crescent wing with three different angles of sweep. When submarines took over the strategic role, some of the aircraft went through conversion into a tanker special. The K.2 received a shortened wing, refueling equipment and a gray finish instead of the white anti-flash one. In that form it flew the most demanding support missions of its career, including operations in the South Atlantic in 1982 and over the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the 1990s.
In 1:72 scale the Victor has extensive smooth areas, and it is on those that every little bubble gives itself away. Lay the element on a wet surface, slide it into place and press the air out with a flat brush. If it still bulges somewhere, pierce the film with the tip of a needle and press it down.
The printed sheet alone is supplied, and the kit itself is not in the price.
