This is a resin detailing accessory, not a model aircraft in its own right. The set adds finely cast fuel tanks in the wings together with the filler necks and covers, and it reveals part of the internal structure of the wing. It is made for the matching plastic kit of the Heinkel He 111P in 1:72 scale; the base model is not included in the package.

The real subject

The Heinkel He 111P was a German twin-engine medium bomber of the early Second World War, typified by its fully glazed nose. The P version was powered by liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines and was used above all in the first years of the conflict.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts free of release agent residue first, cut the casting blocks off carefully and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand resin with your airways protected. A primer coat and airbrush application are recommended; it is a good idea to paint the tanks and bring them out lightly with a wash before the wing is closed.
