A photo-etched set in 1:72 scale for the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter. Metal parts that replace the coarser plastic features of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched fret is a thin metal sheet with an etched relief. The parts are separated from it, shaped and glued onto the model. Metal keeps its shape even at a thickness injected plastic cannot reach, which is why photo-etch is used where a plastic part is inevitably bulkier than the real thing: on seat belts, grab handles, consoles, grilles and areas with fine relief. The extent of this set and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I is a British single-seat fighter of the early part of the Second World War. Its fuselage was built on a frame of tubes with a covering, which was already an older method of construction at the time, but easy to repair under field conditions. In the Battle of Britain the Hurricanes made up the more numerous part of the fighter force than the Spitfires and are credited with more machines shot down, even though the glory went to their faster counterpart.
A photo-etched fret is supplied. The model, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
