A set of replacement engine exhausts for a model of the OV-1 Mohawk aircraft in the A, B, C and D versions in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk was a twin-engined observation and reconnaissance aircraft of the US Army. Its turboprop engines were housed in nacelles on the sides of the fuselage, so the exhausts are among the clearly visible elements of this machine. The A, B, C and D versions differed above all in their reconnaissance equipment; the shape of the engine nacelles stayed common to them.
Replacement engine exhausts in 1:72 scale for the OV-1A, B, C and D versions. They are fitted in place of the parts from the kit and are a typical small accessory that shows at first glance on a finished model.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic does not hold on them; use super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them. Paint the exhausts separately while you still have them loose in your hand: a dark metallic shade with lightly picked-out edges looks more faithful than an even silver. Around the exhausts, real machines darken with exhaust deposits; suggest that on the model with a thin layer of pigment or heavily thinned paint in the direction of the flow, and always over a dry coat of varnish.
The set will please modelers who want a prominent part of the powerplant more cleanly rendered and who do not mind a little sanding, dry-fitting and work with tweezers.
Paints, glue and modeling tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
