This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter represents the American LAV-AT wheeled armored vehicle in the version with anti-tank guided missiles, used by the United States Marine Corps, in 1:72 scale. The model captures the characteristic eight-wheeled hull, the elevating launcher turret with anti-tank guided missiles, rubber tires and decals.
The LAV-AT is the anti-tank version of the LAV family of light armored wheeled vehicles with 8x8 drive, operated by the United States Marine Corps. The vehicle carries an elevating launcher turret for TOW anti-tank guided missiles, supplemented by a machine gun. It is used to destroy armored targets and to give fire support to highly mobile units.
The launcher turret can be assembled either raised or stowed; paint it separately from the hull. Fit the rubber tires only after painting. A modern single-color or desert finish airbrushes well over a colored primer on the plastic; finish with a fine wash and light dust effects from pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
