A color three-dimensional interior for the model of the Vultee Vengeance Mk.I and Mk.Ia dive bomber in 1:72 scale. The sheet contains the instrument panel, the side walls and the restraint belts. It is intended for the DoraWings kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vultee Vengeance was built to a French order, and after the fall of France Britain took the contract over. Before the machines reached the units it turned out that dive bombing was too vulnerable over Europe. The Vengeance therefore found its use elsewhere, mainly over Burma, where British, Australian and Indian squadrons supported ground units against Japanese positions. The design, with the wing set so that the machine hung perpendicular to the ground in a vertical dive, gave it an unmistakable shape.
Anyone building a two-seat bomber the classic way usually reaches for photo-etched metal. But that is flat: it has to be cut off, straightened, bent over an edge and only then painted and picked out again. The most awkward parts tend to be the seat belts, because metal remembers every bad bend and the leaf is easily clogged by varnish. A printed sheet delivers the belts soft, pliable and already in color, so they settle into the seat naturally and do not have to be fine-tuned.
Before gluing, check that the shape of the internal walls matches the parts of the kit. On older molds it sometimes happens that the side walls are thicker and the sheet then has to be narrowed by a few tenths of a millimeter. The work is simpler if the parts are cut out beforehand and laid out in the order in which they will go into the model. The model and the paints are not in the package.
