The GHAD-68 airbrush

A dual-action airbrush with gravity feed of the paint and lever-shaped trigger control, which is a grip close to that of a real gun and less tiring over long work than a classic button. The nozzle is self-centering and is inserted from above, so it is easy to remove and to clean. The seals in the parts that come into contact with the paint are of PTFE and stand up better to solvents. The manufacturer supplies the airbrush with nozzles of 0.38 and 0.5 mm diameter and two interchangeable cups of different capacity.

Use

• Base and covering coats on whole models in the larger scales.
• Camouflage transitions and color modulation of surfaces.
• Applying clear coats, fillers in a thin layer and filler primers.
• Working with thicker paints, where smaller nozzles give trouble.

Work tips

Use the 0.38 mm nozzle for finer work and transitions, and the 0.5 mm one for large areas and thicker materials. After each color rinse the cup and the channel with the matching thinner; the PTFE seals will take solvents, but dried paint in the nozzle will not. Choose a rather lower pressure and thin the paint rather more, and build up the saturation with the number of coats. Clean the needle by drawing it backwards, not forwards through the nozzle, or you will widen the nozzle.
