The OFAB-250 high-explosive fragmentation bomb in 1:72 is a printed stores accessory for models of Soviet and Russian aircraft. An airplane model it is not.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on armament set in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models, printed from photopolymer. The contents are a high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb of the 250 kilogram class. The set is hung under a finished kit and does not make up an aircraft model on its own.
The OFAB-250 is a Soviet high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb of the 250 kilogram class, which the manufacturer describes as a weapon against industrial structures and troops. It works by a combination of blast and splinters, so it covers a larger area than a purely high-explosive bomb of the same weight. It ranked among the most common armament of Soviet and Russian tactical aircraft and was carried singly as well as on multiple ejector racks.
The parts are printed from photopolymer, so thin print supports are left on them. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch nippers and sand the pad they leave with fine abrasive paper. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, because polystyrene cement has no effect on this material. Lay down a filler primer before painting; it will at the same time reveal any remains of the supports. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
