The set brings a 3D printed airfield tow bar for the Su-35 in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of the aircraft but a piece of ground equipment: one end of the bar latches onto the nose landing gear leg and the other onto the coupling of the airfield tug that moves the aircraft around the parking apron. The shape of the attachment differs for each type, and it is exactly that difference the set captures.
The Su-35 is a single-seat multirole aircraft and a deep upgrade of the Su-27. It has a strengthened airframe, new avionics and engines with thrust-vectoring nozzles, which give it extraordinary agility at low speeds. Against the original Su-27 both the take-off weight and the fuel load have grown, so ground handling cannot be done without a tug.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Ground equipment is brought to life by a dark wash run into the recesses and by drybrushing on the edges.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
