Birch leaves, light green, for 1:72 scale and 28 mm figures

A scenic material for diorama building by AK interactive. The package holds a bag of small leaves in the shape of a birch leaf, in a light green summer color, weighing 7 grams according to the name. It is not a finished tree or a tree kit but the material with which you add foliage to an armature that you build yourself or buy separately. The leaf size is graded for small scales, that is, 1:72 and gaming figures 28 mm in size.

Use

• apply thin PVA glue or a special foliage adhesive to the twigs of the tree armature
• sprinkle the leaves on in small doses and shake the excess off onto paper, where it can be reused
• work in layers, as two or three thinner layers look livelier than one heavy one
• fix the finished foliage with a spray of thinned glue or a fixative, or the leaves come loose
• scatter some of the leaves on the ground under the tree as well, as the contact of the canopy with the ground makes the scene believable

Airbrush: toning at low pressure

Finished foliage can be unified in color with its surroundings with a light breath from the airbrush, but the pressure decides. The scattered leaves hold on glue alone, and a stream of air above roughly one bar will simply blow them away or wipe off glue that has not yet dried. Lower the pressure as far as the airbrush can still atomize, use heavily thinned paint and spray from a greater distance in two or three short breaths. The aim is a shift of tone, not a repaint, or you will lose the shade you bought the leaves for.
