BN05 Blue

The paint

A modeling paint with the designation BN05. The shade is listed as blue, with no closer definition of the tone; whether it is a dark or a light blue, judge from the manufacturer's color chart or from a test patch. The item belongs to the Mr.Color range of the brand Gunze. It is meant for painting models and it suits a brush as well as an airbrush.

How to work with the paint

Stir the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom. Work in several thin coats and let the paint set between them; a thick coat floods the engraving of the panels and on a large area every stroke of the brush will show in it. Choose the thinner and the cleaning agent according to the manufacturer's instructions for this range and reach for them straight after the work, as dried pigment comes off with difficulty. Do not thin the paint with water unless the instructions expressly say so.

Before you put it on the model

Wash and degrease the model, otherwise the paint will peel. Try the shade and the sheen on an offcut of plastic and judge them in daylight, because blue tones look markedly different on a large area than in the bottle. Apply masks only onto a dry coat and lift them off slowly and at an angle. Check mixing with the paints of other makers on an offcut beforehand, not straight on the model.

Terms of supply

The package holds the paint only. The thinner, the brushes, the airbrushes and the model are not part of it, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the paint carefully closed and out of the reach of children.
