CL101 Blond Base Color Gloss

The color

A paint from the CL range in the Mr.Color assortment. Its code is CL101 and the name of the shade is Blond, that is a light hair tone. The Base Color attribute places it among the base shades: it is applied as the lower covering coat and the further work, that is shading, highlighting and any clear coat, comes only on top of it. The finish is gloss, and the dried surface is smooth and reflects light.

Working with the paint

Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, the pigment settles at the bottom. Light shades cover less well than dark ones, so count on two to three thin coats; one heavy coat shows up immediately on a figure, because it floods the fine shapes of the hair. Choose a light base, ideally a white or light gray primer, otherwise the tone will be needlessly darkened. It is thinned with the thinner intended for the Mr.Color range, not with water. Clean the brush and the airbrush with the same thinner right after work.

Where the color is used

The closest use is the hair of figures, where the gloss gives the strands a sheen and at the same time a good base under shading with a darker tone. A light paint also suits places where a darker base needs to be lightened. Before applying it to the model, try the shade on an offcut of plastic and judge it in daylight, because it looks different in the bottle than on a surface.

Terms of supply

The package contains the paint only. The thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a figure are not part of it, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the paint carefully closed and out of the reach of children.
