The Sorbtsiya jamming pod for the Su-33 in 1:48 scale is a 3D-printed resin accessory from Temp Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin model of the pod of the Sorbtsiya jamming system for the Su-33 carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The pod is carried at the wingtip and on a model it replaces a simplified plastic part or completes a kit that does not have it. It is not an aircraft model but a separate equipment accessory.
Sorbtsiya is a Soviet electronic warfare system carried in pods at the wingtips on machines of the Su-27 family, the carrier version included. The suite works as a pair: the front and rear ends of the pod cover different directions, so the aircraft is protected both ahead and astern. In the silhouette of the machine the pods take the place of the usual launch rails, so they are easy to recognize even in a photograph from a distance.
Release the part from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating face on abrasive paper on glass, so that the pod meets the edge of the wing without a gap. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The antenna covers at the front and at the rear tend to be in a different shade from the body, so spray them separately. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
