A stencil for applying a repeating pattern with an airbrush, from a range of patterns and markings for science fiction subjects and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A stencil with which you transfer a repeating pattern onto a model without laborious masking. It belongs to a range of five items in which circular textures, numerals, warning markings and further motifs for science fiction subjects and for dioramas stand side by side. This item carries the motif that the manufacturer designates in the name as Gear Markings.
Lay the stencil on the place where the pattern is to appear and secure it against shifting. Apply the paint perpendicular to the surface and in several light coats; one heavy coat will run under the edge and the outline will smear. After spraying, lift the stencil straight up, while the paint has not yet set completely, and wipe it at once, so that the cut pattern does not clog with dried paint.
The pattern serves well where a smooth area is meant to read as an industrial or machine surface: on the hulls of science fiction subjects, on containers and crates for a diorama, on bases and on backdrops. It can also be transferred with a short, stiff-bristled brush, provided the paint is picked up in the smallest possible amount.
It will be appreciated by the modeler who completes a surface with patterns of their own and does not want to cut them laboriously out of tape. The delivery holds the stencil itself; paints, masking tape and a model are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
