This is a spare blade for the Mr. Line Chisel GT-65 from Gunze (Mr. Hobby) — you have to own the holder, the chisel, as the blade alone is not enough. And take note: it is not an ordinary blade but the type for shallow engraving. Its cutting edge has a finer profile than the standard blades, so it does not make a deep groove but a shallow and very fine line. The width of 0.15 mm is the finest of the shallow pair.
While an ordinary blade deepens a pronounced narrow groove, a shallow blade only gently suggests a line. It suits fine surface detail, restrained panel lines and suggestions of structure in small scales, where a deep groove would come across as coarse and unnatural. It is used by drawing it toward you along a template, in several light passes — a shallow profile does not bite down into the depth and is easier to control.
For modelers who want the finest suggested lines possible without any depth. Anyone who needs pronounced, deep gaps will choose the ordinary blades of the 0.10 to 1.20 mm range.
The blade is sharp — engrave away from your fingers, use a template and store it out of the reach of children.
