Kh-59MK guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the Russian anti-ship Kh-59MK guided missile in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Russian Kh-59MK guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print holds the slung engine nacelle and the folding surfaces, which an injection mold cannot produce.
The Kh-59MK is the anti-ship version of the Russian Kh-59 guided missile with a slung jet engine. Against the television-guided version it has an active radar of its own over the final stretch of the flight, which finds the target on the water by itself, so the aircraft can break away after launch. The missile flies low over the water, so that the defenses of the target pick it up as late as possible. It is carried by Russian tactical aircraft of the Su-30 and Su-34 families.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
