The AL-41F1 engine nozzles for the Su-57 1:32 are a 3D printed resin set of the exhaust nozzles of the AL-41F1 engines for a model of the Su-57 in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of both engines on a model of the Su-57 in 1:32 scale, and that in the form matching the AL-41F1 engine. A resin 3D print can manage the sawtooth edges of the petals and the internal detail, which an injection mold does not render faithfully. The manufacturer also lists a separate set of nozzles for the newer engine.
The Su-57 flies with a pair of engines with an afterburner and a vectoring nozzle. The first series machines were given the AL-41F1 engine, derived from the powerplant of the Su-27 family and regarded as an interim solution. Its nozzles have the characteristic sawtooth ends of the petals, which reduce the radar signature. The new powerplant designated izdeliye 30 has its nozzles solved differently, which is why the two forms are not interchanged.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. The inside of the nozzles comes out best with metallic shades and a dark wash, which brings out the petals and the linkages.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
