Launchers for the Su-25, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin set of launchers and pylons for a model of the Su-25 attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds 3D-printed resin launchers and pylons on which the Su-25 attack aircraft carries its armament, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print keeps the sharp edges of the rails and the small attachment fittings that a mold inevitably rounds off.
The Su-25 carries its armament on ten hardpoints under the wing, from rocket pods and bombs through guided missiles to short-range self-defense missiles on the wingtip pylons. An attack aircraft flies low and slow, so the stores tend to be full and practically all of them are in view. That is exactly why the pylons are so conspicuous on a model. For the upgraded SM version the manufacturer keeps a separate set.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
