A resin R-27ER air-to-air guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The letter E in the designation stands for the version with the larger motor, so the missile is noticeably longer and bulkier than the baseline. The resin print manages the thin lifting surfaces as well as the control fins. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store.
The R-27 family has two branches by size: the baseline missiles and the versions with a lengthened body and a more powerful motor that reach farther. The letter R at the end of the designation, meanwhile, stands for semi-active radar homing. The combination of a larger motor and radar guidance makes this version a weapon for combat at long range, carried by the heavy fighters of the Su-27 family. On a model the difference in length from the baseline version is easy to see.
Release the long missile body from the supports on a flat work mat so that it does not bow. Sand the marks down with fine paper and wet sand, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Check the lifting surfaces against the light to see whether they are twisted. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
