R-27ET guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the heat-seeking R-27 missile with extended range in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the R-27ET air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The extended-range version is longer and bulkier than the basic R-27T and carries an infrared seeker with a glazed cover.
The R-27ET combines the extended range of the E version with infrared guidance, so the aircraft does not have to illuminate the target with its own radar even at long distance. The longer body with a more powerful motor is the unmistakable mark that sets it apart from the basic R-27T. The missile is carried by fighters of the Su-27 and MiG-29 families, usually together with the radar-guided versions. The characteristic shaped control surfaces remain common to the whole family.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
