R-27T guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet heat-seeking medium-range air-to-air missile in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the R-27T air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print keeps the characteristic shaped control surfaces and the clear cover of the infrared seeker, which a casting usually simplifies.
The R-27T is the infrared-guided version of the Soviet medium-range R-27 air-to-air missile, carried by MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters. Unlike the radar version it does not need the aircraft to illuminate the target, so the pilot can break away after launch. You will recognize the seeker by its glazed nose, while the control surfaces remain as unmistakable as on the whole family. The two versions are carried as a pair.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
