R-77 guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the modern Russian air-to-air missile with active radar guidance, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the R-77 air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. It is on this missile that 3D printing shows its worth most, because it can render the lattice tail surfaces that cannot be made in an injection mold at all.
The R-77 is a modern Russian medium-range air-to-air missile with active radar guidance over the final stretch of its flight. The aircraft can leave after launch, because the missile finds the target with a radar of its own. Its unmistakable mark is the lattice control surfaces (grid fins) at the tail, made up of fine ribs that give great effect at small dimensions. It is carried by modern Russian combat aircraft of the MiG-29 and Su-27 families.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
