A resin landing gear wheel set for a model of the two-seat MiG-23UB trainer version in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print renders both the tread pattern and the shape of the rim without the mold seam that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The MiG-23UB is the two-seat training version of the variable-geometry fighter, in which the instructor sits behind the student in a raised rear cockpit. Trainers fly in quick succession and land far more often than combat aircraft, so their landing gear and tires work in a harder regime. For a modeler that is a detail worth attention.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and level the seating face so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the rim separately, following the real subject. Trainers tend to be well maintained, so keep the weathering restrained.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
