Building and painting tips

Dry-fit the figure in the cockpit first, because a seated figure has to fit between the seat, the side walls and the controls. A small adjustment to the legs or arms is quite usual; take the material off a little at a time and keep trying the fit. If you paint the figures yourself, paint them before you glue them into the cockpit, since a brush will no longer reach a finished figure closed under the canopy. Work in thin layers, apply a darker tone into the folds of the clothing and leave the face for last. Cut off the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the figure before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth surface.
