A resin set of landing gear wheels for a model of the two-seat Su-30 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin manages the tread pattern and the detailed hub in one piece, so the parting line that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel disappears. It is not a kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The Su-30 is a two-seat multirole machine derived from the heavy fighter of the Su-27 family. Against its single-seat predecessor the take-off weight went up, because the aircraft carries a second crew member, more fuel and a wider range of armament, and the landing gear had to match. The tires carry a high pressure and settle visibly on the ground, so the wheel is one of the parts on a model where the difference between plastic and resin shows most.
Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating spot, so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the hub separately, following the real thing, and use a circular mask on the transition. A thin layer of dust on the lower part of the tread gives the wheel some weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
