Light Olive 17ml

Vallejo Model Air Light Olive 17 ml, an acrylic for the airbrush

A water-based acrylic modeling paint in a dropper bottle with a volume of 17 ml. The Model Air range is formulated for spraying from the ground up: it has a finely ground pigment and a lower viscosity, so it can be poured into an airbrush practically as it is and gives a thin, even film at low pressure. That sets it apart from the thick brush range, which has to be thinned before spraying; if the ranges are confused, the thick paint will clog the nozzle. The Light Olive shade is a light olive green, that is a tone from the family of military greens.

Use

• Shake the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles.
• Spray at low pressure in several thin coats; one heavy coat will fill the engraved panel lines.
• On smooth plastic the paint benefits from a base primer, which improves both adhesion and the final durability.
• To fine-tune the consistency use a thinner for acrylics, or a flow improver; plain water curdles the binder of the paint.
• A dried coat can be painted over with further acrylics; before decals it is better to clear-coat with a gloss varnish compatible with acrylic.
• Flush the airbrush straight after work, as dried acrylic is considerably harder to remove.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who spray the camouflage of military equipment, aircraft and figures with an airbrush and want a paint ready for immediate use. It can be applied with a brush, but because of the thinner consistency you have to count on more coats. The name does not tie the shade to any military standard or to any particular machine, so work with it as a tone, not as a prescribed color.

A water-based acrylic paint. When spraying use extraction and a respirator, as the mist from an airbrush is not meant to be inhaled. Keep out of the reach of children.
