The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 accompanied the Luftwaffe through the whole war, and the G and K series stand at the end of its development. They were powered by the liquid-cooled inverted V12 DB 605, which called for a strengthening of the airframe, more prominent fairings and in the end a changed canopy as well. The K version was then the last series-produced form of the whole type. The differences between the individual batches are small, and it is exactly they that decide whether a model matches the chosen machine or mixes elements from different periods.
