A modeling marker pen filled with metallic-looking paint in a dark iron shade. The tip is ultra-fine and fitted with a valve system, so the paint flows out evenly and leaves behind no visible strokes and no fibers from a sponge. Once dry the mark resists water and smearing, and it holds on plastic, metal, resin, paper and wood.
Start the marker pen off on an offcut first, because the first mark tends to be stronger than the ones that follow. Do not press on the edge, let the tip itself do the work, otherwise the paint runs over the rim. A metallic effect looks best used sparingly, in the places where the real subject really does rub through, not all around the part. If you want to tone the mark down, go over it with a dry brush once it has dried or dust it lightly with pigment. Cap the marker pen right after work, otherwise the tip dries out.
A marker pen does not belong on a larger area, because the mark would stay uneven. There it is better to reach for paint and a brush.
Keep out of the reach of children and work in a ventilated space.
