The landing gear legs for the MiG-31 1:32 are a 3D printed set of landing gear legs for a model of the heavy MiG-31 interceptor in 1:32 scale with steel reinforcement.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the nose and main landing gear legs of a model of the MiG-31 in 1:32 scale. The legs are printed from a strong polymer and reinforced with steel pins, which matters on so heavy a machine. They capture the extended position with the hydraulic and electrical lines, the landing light and the mudguard rendered.
The MiG-31 is among the heaviest fighters of all, which was reflected in the unusual arrangement of its main landing gear. The wheels are set one behind the other and spread the load over a larger area, so that the machine can use runways of lower bearing capacity as well. The legs are massive, full of struts and rods, and on an aircraft standing still they are clearly visible. This arrangement is an unmistakable identifying feature of the MiG-31.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Glue the steel-reinforced legs into a joint that has matured and let the model stand after assembly before you set it down on its wheels.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
