Mr. Color - flat black - spray 40 ml (Gunze)

A modeling paint in a spray can with a volume of 40 ml. The Mr. Color range from Gunze is a lacquer (nitro-based) paint - it is not an acrylic, and that is fundamental to how it is used. The lacquer holds extremely well, forms a thin durable film and dries quickly. This shade is flat black - it dries to a flat, non-reflective surface. It suits chassis, tires, interiors, weapons, equipment and everywhere a sheen would be distracting. Beware of mixing them up: this range also includes a gloss black, which is a different product with a different finish - if you need gloss under decals, this is not the right version.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly before use - the pigment settles to the bottom; without proper shaking neither the shade nor the coverage will be right.
• Spray from the recommended distance and in thin coats, preferably in more passes. Trying to saturate the surface in one go leads to runs and orange peel.
• Lacquer is aggressive toward plastic. A heavy wet coat or spraying from close up can attack thin, delicate parts. Spray small parts carefully and from a distance.
• Never spray over uncured acrylic or enamel - lacquer thinner will dissolve them and the underlying coat will lift. Let the lower coats cure thoroughly, or separate them with a compatible barrier coat.
• A spray can cannot be thinned or have its pressure controlled. For subtle transitions, misting and fine lines you need an airbrush - a spray can is quick and convenient for overall coats, not for detail work.

For modelers who want a quick, even flat black coat without setting up an airbrush and compressor - base coats, chassis, large areas. Also suitable as an addition to airbrush equipment for jobs where it is not worth getting the airbrush out.

Safety - please read this properly: the spray contains organic solvents, gives off strong fumes and is flammable. Spray outdoors or in a well ventilated space and use a respirator - an ordinary face mask gives no protection against solvent fumes. Do not spray near an open flame or sources of sparks, and do not store the can in direct sunlight or in heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
