A warm sand yellow for desert schemes and late camouflage, 10 ml. A lacquer formulation intended for application with an airbrush, thinned with the lacquer thinner of the same brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
This warm yellow-sand tone is among the shades almost everyone reaches for who builds equipment from dry regions or late vehicles of the Second World War. It is not a pure yellow: the pigment is muddied toward beige, so on a model it looks dusty and does not shout even over large areas.
The shade serves as the base tone of desert schemes, as an undercoat beneath patches of green and brown on multi-tone camouflage and as the starting color for a whole scale of parched tones. Adding white makes a faded variant from it for upper surfaces, while adding brown gives a soiled tone for undersides and fenders.
Light warm shades have a tendency to let the surface show through, especially over dark plastic or a dark undercoat. So lay them over a light gray or white base and build the color up gradually in thin coats. With this color in particular, modulation pays off: brightened centers of areas and darker places left in the corners give a model the depth an even coat never has.
The volume is 10 ml. The formulation is based on lacquer and is thinned with the company thinner in a ratio of roughly 1:1 to 2:1, depending on how thick the paint is. It is neither thinned nor cleaned with water. The dried surface is firm and takes filters, washes and work with pigments, the techniques most often used on desert equipment, well.
Dust settles on real machines from above and rain washes it off the sides. When you work with pigments after spraying, keep to this logic: most of the material belongs on the horizontal surfaces and in the corners, while the sides need only a light dusting.
