The Mr. Procon Boy LWA is a premium airbrush from the Japanese brand Gunze / Mr. Hobby, highly valued among modelers for its precision, quality of manufacture and readily available spare parts. The LWA model is double action with a pistol trigger and a gravity-feed top cup. According to the manufacturer it is supplied with two air caps - for a classic round spray pattern and for a widened fan pattern for large areas.
The large 0.5 mm nozzle diameter is meant for fast coverage of large areas, primer coats, varnishes and thicker paints. It is an ideal tool for large models - tanks, large aircraft, cars or ships - where you need to lay the paint down evenly and fast.
A double-action airbrush controls the air and the paint separately: pressing the trigger lets the air through and pulling it regulates the amount of paint. You therefore have full control over the spray as you go. The pistol-grip handle also reduces finger fatigue during long work on large areas.
To use it you need a compressor with a steady supply of clean air and paint thinned to the right consistency. Clean the airbrush thoroughly after every session - dried paint damages the nozzle. Suitable accessories: a compressor, an air hose, cleaner and thinner.
