Vallejo Model Color New Wood is a flat acrylic model paint for the brush, the light shade of fresh, unweathered wood in an 18 ml dropper bottle. It is a paint, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An acrylic model paint from the Model Color line of Vallejo. It is not a kit but a paint. Model Color is a water-thinnable acrylic with a high concentration of pigment, intended mainly for the brush; it dries quickly to a flat, well-covering and self-leveling film. The volume of the dropper bottle is 18 ml. The shade matches its name: it is light, fresh wood, an unweathered plank, new boarding, a clean tool handle. That is exactly why it is the ideal starting tone on which the final grain of wood is then built.
Wood is never painted with one color. Realism comes only from layering: first an even light base (exactly this shade), then glazes, washes or oil paints that flow into the structure and play the tone out, and finally a fine grain and fibers drawn with a thin brush or a sharp point. Only this build-up gives wood depth. Whoever wants older, weathered or dark wood combines the light base with darker and weathered wood shades, of which Vallejo offers several in this line, and mixing them together is the fastest route to the natural variety of planks.
For diorama builders, figure painters, ship and railway modelers and for everyone dealing with wooden details on equipment. Thin the paint for an airbrush, as unthinned it is thick and intended for the brush (the ready-to-spray range at Vallejo is Model Air).
A water-based acrylic paint. Store at room temperature out of the reach of children and close the bottle after use. Ventilate when spraying and protect your airways.
