OQTARIMUS, FARIES MUTILATOR – 35MM

Fantasy figure Oqtarimus, 35 mm in size

A figure of the fantasy character listed under the name Oqtarimus in the 35 mm size range. It belongs to the figures bought for the sake of the painting itself: the character stands on its own, it needs no vehicle and no scene around it, and the result shows straight away. How many parts it is made up of and how it goes together is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

What the figure 35 mm means

With figures the size in millimeters, that is the height of the character, is given instead of a ratio scale. The figure of 35 mm therefore says how big the figure is and is useful for comparison with other figures in a collection; it cannot be equated automatically with ratio scales such as 1:35, because every range measures a little differently. The practical effect is mainly on how fine the detail on the character has to be painted.

Building and painting tips

• Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface.
• Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm soapy water and degrease it.
• Apply a base coat, as paint holds badly on a smooth surface without one.
• Paint in thin layers and let each one dry, because a thick layer floods the detail.
• A darker glaze in the recesses and a lighter pass over the edges give the character volume.
• The glue suitable for the material used is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
