A modeling paint in the RAF Dark Green shade, the dark camouflage green of British aircraft, shade number 641.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dark Green is the dark camouflage green that British aircraft wore on their upper surfaces. The number 641 refers to the British standard of color shades, in which this tone has its fixed place, so it is not a free modeling interpretation but a shade derived from the period specification. The result is a green that is rather subdued and muted, designed so that a machine seen from above would merge with the countryside beneath it.
Dark green was among the basic camouflage shades of the Royal Air Force throughout the Second World War. In the early period it formed a pair with dark brown on the upper surfaces, and later gray joined it on day fighters. It therefore has its place on the fighters and bombers of the Royal Air Force of this period, on models in the small scales and in the large ones alike.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the package and do not go by habit from another range, as each has a different binder. Wash the surface, degrease it and give it a primer coat. Apply in thin coats and let them dry; one heavy coat will fill the fine relief. The boundaries of the camouflage fields were as a rule sharp on the real machines, so masking pays off rather than spraying freehand. Clean the brushes and the airbrush immediately after work.
For modelers of British aircraft who want a shade matching the period specification, and for anyone who does not want to mix a camouflage green themselves.
Thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
