A resin set of plugs and chocks for a Su-35 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It holds the equipment that the ground crew puts on a parked aircraft: covers for the openings on the airframe and chocks that keep the machine from moving. The set is printed in resin. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a finished model on the flight line.
The Su-35 has large air intakes under the fuselage and massive thrust-vectoring nozzles, so there is a fair number of places to cover on a parked machine. The covers tend to be brightly colored and fitted with long streamers, so that a technician notices them before a launch and takes them off. It is exactly this contrast of color against the dark finish of the machine that makes the covers a rewarding element on a model.
Release the parts from the supports with a new blade and over a working surface. Sand the mating faces, so that a cover sits tightly. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The streamers can be suggested with a thin strip of foil or with painted fabric. Fit the covers only once the weathering is finished, so that they stay clean.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
