A resin set of landing gear legs for a Su-24 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. For the sets in this series the manufacturer states printing from a strong polymer reinforced with steel pins, so a leg carries the weight of a finished model better than a thin plastic part. The sets render the nose leg and the main legs in the extended position, with the lines, the landing lights and a fender picked out. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The Su-24 is a two-seat strike aircraft with a variable-geometry wing in which the crew sits side by side. The machine is heavy, it takes off with a large load and operation from less prepared surfaces was reckoned with, so the landing gear was given a rugged design. That is exactly why this part is critical on a model: plastic legs sag in time under the weight of a large model.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the legs before you fit them and only then pick the lines out with a dark tone. Faint weathering suits the area around the landing lights and the fender; on the real machine these places are always the dirtiest.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
