A detailed replacement landing gear in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models. For the set the manufacturer gives finely detailed nose and main legs in the ground position with imitated electrical and hydraulic systems and landing lights, and with a mudguard. According to the manufacturer the legs are made by 3D prototyping from a high-strength polymer and reinforced with steel rods.
The Su-25 is a Soviet subsonic ground-attack aircraft for the direct support of ground troops, built from the start to operate from unpaved surfaces. Robust landing gear with low-pressure tires and a mudguard on the nose leg, which protects the fuselage from debris thrown up by the wheels, matches that. The plastic legs from a kit tend to be simplified and soft in this scale.
Landing gear legs are among the most heavily loaded parts of a model. The steel reinforcement inside the parts raises their load capacity markedly, yet let the joints cure thoroughly before you stand the model on its wheels. Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pad, and glue the parts with super glue. Landing gear legs used to be light gray and got dirty quickly, so a dark wash and fine traces of dust show up well on them. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
