The set holds resin figures of Russian Air Force ground crew dressed in winter clothing, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a winter airfield scene. Bulky coats and caps give the figures an entirely different silhouette from summer working clothes.
Aircraft maintenance at Russian bases in the far north goes on even in hard frost, when the technicians work in coats, lined trousers, gloves and fur caps. The silhouette of the figure is markedly broader as a result and movement slows down, which a well-made figure captures. For a modeler a winter scene is rewarding, because it allows work with snow, mud and different shades. Figures in winter clothing are indispensable for it.
Wash the 3D-printed figures in warm soapy water and cut the print supports away with a sharp blade, carefully around the fingers and the gear. Sand them with respiratory protection and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a thin primer as the base, paint the faces and hands with a brush and lighten the shades step by step, and finish the clothing with a dark wash in the folds. Add gloss varnish to the helmet and the visor.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
