UK Light Stone

Vallejo Model Air UK Light Stone

This is a covering water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range, that is from the range thinned at the factory to a consistency suited to an airbrush. The pigment is finely ground, so the paint passes even through smaller nozzles and does not clog them as quickly as thick brush acrylics. The shade matches its name: a light, slightly yellowish stone sand color that suits large areas of ground equipment as well as a base under light shades.

Use and airbrush settings

• The usual setting is a lower pressure, roughly in the band of 1 to 1.5 bar, and a nozzle from 0.2 to 0.4 mm.
• Spray from a short distance and in thin coats, so that the paint does not bake onto the edge of the nozzle.
• When the spray pattern starts to break up, the fault is not in the paint but in dried pigment on the needle. Wiping the needle is enough to carry on.
• On large areas lay the paint down in overlapping passes at the same speed, as otherwise darker bands appear where you slowed down.
• The paint dries to a velvety flat surface, which is a good base for later shades and weathering.

Who the paint is for

It will be reached for above all by modelers who spray with an airbrush and want a paint without lengthy thinning and mixing. It can also be used with a brush, but because of the thin consistency you have to count on more coats. The dropper bottle allows the paint to be dosed drop by drop straight into the cup of the gun.

A water-based acrylic paint. Ventilate when spraying and use a respirator, because the atomized mist is inhaled. Keep out of the reach of children and store the bottle well closed at ordinary room temperature, protected from frost.
