A resin S-24 unguided aircraft rocket in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The parts are printed in resin, so they carry even the small details of the body and of the deployed fins. It is neither an aircraft kit nor a part of one, but a separate piece of armament that you hang on the pylon of your own model.
The S-24 is a Soviet large-caliber unguided rocket intended against ground targets. Unlike small rockets, which are carried twenty at a time in pods, this one is hung singly straight onto a pylon or a rack, because for its category it is exceptionally heavy. It was used against fortified positions, equipment and areas where the effect of a single warhead mattered more than the number of hits. It was carried by attack and fighter-bomber aircraft of several generations.
The body of the rocket is long and thin, so release it from the supports on a flat surface and without bending it. Sand the marks left by the supports with fine paper, wet and with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The stabilizing surfaces are thin, so check them against the light to see whether they are warped. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
