The Wet Palette from Green Stuff World is a wet mixing palette meant for work with acrylic paints. The principle is simple: a moistened hydrophilic sponge goes into the tray and a semi-permeable membrane, a paper, goes on top of it. The membrane lets moisture through toward the paint but does not let the paint soak through it. The paints therefore stay supple and usable far longer than on a conventional palette.
The palette suits figure painters and modelers who paint with acrylics and want to cut down on their drying out and on waste. It will be appreciated above all by those who work with techniques that call for a longer open time of the paint.
