A marker from the Gundam Marker range filled with a silver shade, the manufacturer's part number XGM100, the shade carried under the name Plated Silver. The naming refers to the look of a plated surface, that is, the smooth bright silver of electroplated parts. The paint goes from the tip straight onto the model, with no thinning and no airbrush.
Bright silver is used on parts that are meant to look like polished metal: on barrels and blades, on frames and the edges of covers, on exhausts, on the fittings of equipment and on small decorative elements. It also comes into its own for repairing places where the surface of an originally plated part has been rubbed off during cleaning up or handling.
Shake the marker thoroughly before work. Start the tip by pressing it on a piece of scrap plastic until the paint flows evenly. The surface matters more with bright silver than with ordinary paints: every scratch, fingerprint and trace of grease shows in the final shine, so smooth and degrease the area first. Apply a thin layer in a single stroke and let it dry; going back over paint that has not dried breaks the shine.
The package contains the marker in the stated version. The model, other shades, varnishes and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the marker out of the reach of children.
