A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the F-4E Phantom II aircraft in 1:48, an accessory for a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etched parts for a model of the F-4E aircraft in 1:48. Photo-etch is a thin metal sheet with an etched relief, and its thinness cannot be molded in plastic, so it is used where a plastic part looks too heavy. On a finished model the difference shows above all on surfaces that in reality should be of thin material. The extent of the set and where the individual parts go are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The F-4E Phantom II is a two-seat multirole combat aircraft, one of the most widespread versions of the whole type. It is told from the older machines by its lengthened nose with a built-in six-barrel 20 millimeter rotary cannon, which the earlier versions lacked. The Phantom served with a number of countries and saw many camouflage schemes, so it is rewarding for collectors of markings too.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by tearing, and sand the remains of the tab away. Make the bends along the etched groove, best in an etch bender or between two blades, so that the edge is straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a truly small amount, for example with the tip of a pin. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer, or the finish will hold badly on the smooth surface.
For modelers who want to complete a kit with finer detail and are not afraid of working with small metal parts. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
