A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the F-4E Phantom II fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4E is the two-seat, twin-engine version of the American Phantom II fighter, recognizable by its lengthened nose with a built-in six-barrel 20 mm cannon. Later machines were additionally given slats on the leading edge of the wing, which improved handling in maneuvers. The type served for decades with the American and with foreign air forces and is among the most frequently built models of postwar hardware.
The contents are a fret of photo-etched metal parts, that is an accessory to a build rather than a model on its own. Etched metal replaces plastic where thin sheet belongs, and in 1:48 scale it allows the places an injection mold cannot manage to be refined. Which sections of the model the set covers is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by twisting, otherwise they will be deformed. Make the bends along the marked groove in an etch bender or between two metal rules. Glue with super glue in a minute amount, applied with the tip of a toothpick. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer intended for metal surfaces, otherwise the coat holds badly on smooth sheet and rubs off during handling.
The kit of the model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
