Dirty shades are the most valuable and at the same time the most treacherous thing in modeling. Dirty Green Fixer Gloss is a product of the Lifecolor brand from the Fixer range, that is, a means of fixing an effect that has been created, and its tone is a deliberately unclean green, completed by the glossy degree of surface given in the name. It is precisely this uncleanness that sets a convincing model apart from a toy — and at the same time it is the first thing to be lost in a small scale.
An unclean green lives on small differences: a patch of the surface pulls toward brown, another toward gray, a third stays more saturated. On a real machine these differences are spread over meters and the eye reads them as richness of surface. On a model in 1:72 they are all compressed into an area the size of a fingernail, the eye stops telling them apart and averages them into a single matte gray-green tone. The result is that carefully built-up dirt looks splendid up close but disappears completely from a distance. In small scales it therefore pays to overstate the differences between the individual shades — more than the subject would warrant — whereas in 1:35 and larger a gentle shift is enough, because the eye has room enough to catch it.
For modelers who build worn vehicles and want the surface not to look uniform. It will be appreciated by those who work with layering tones and want the result to read even from an ordinary viewing distance.
Keep out of the reach of children. When spraying, work in a well-ventilated space.
