Field Green is a medium green with a subdued, rather olive character. In the Federal Standard 595 color standard it carries the number 34097, where the leading three marks the flat group and the four in second place the green family of shades. Among the green tones of the standard it sits roughly in the middle, so it goes well with darker and with lighter fields alike.
A medium green is a rewarding shade for large areas of ground vehicles and for multicolor schemes, where it forms the linking tone between contrasting fields. It also suits equipment, canvas and transport crates. On the model it can be played with by lightening and darkening without any worry that it will stop being clear which color it is. Dusty lower areas and cleaner upper surfaces give the model depth even without pronounced chipping.
Wash and degrease the surface, otherwise the paint will come away with the masking tape when you peel it off. Stir the contents of the bottle through properly and spray in thin coats with a pause between them. For masked schemes, the boundary between fields looks better if you spray it from the bottom upwards, that is from the darker shade toward the lighter one, because the transitions then announce themselves less. Choose the thinner from the same paint line; the thinning ratio and further instructions are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
For modelers of ground vehicles and of aircraft who need a medium green tone tied to a standard number. The package contains one bottle of paint of 17 ml; thinner and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
