Forest Green is a deep dark green with no blue cast, listed in the Federal Standard 595 standard under the number 34079. The three at the start belongs to the matte group of the standard, the four in second place to the green family. Among the greens of the American standard this one is among the darkest, so on a model it works as a contrasting field rather than as a base area.
Dark green comes into its own in multi-color camouflage schemes, where it forms a counterweight to lighter green and brown fields. It also serves well on small items: shipping crates, tarpaulins, jerrycans and frames that are meant to look austere and free of shine. Over a large area it is worth lightening, otherwise it swallows the detail of the surface.
The plastic benefits from washing and degreasing, otherwise the paint peels away when masking tape is lifted. Stir the bottle and spray in thin coats. Handle the boundary between the dark green and the neighboring field according to the scheme you are building: a crisp transition with a mask, or a soft transition by spraying from a greater distance at lower pressure. Lay masking tape on a dried coat, not a fresh one. Thin with a thinner intended for this range of paints, in the ratio the manufacturer states.
